African music streaming service Playfre wins “Best Music Streaming Platform – West Africa” at the fourth annual African Excellence Awards, hosted by MEA Markets.

The African music streaming giant Playfre has blocked access to the music streaming platform from countries other than Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Egypt, and South Africa. Any visitor outside of these 5 mentioned African countries are taken to the “Playfre is currently not available in your country” screen.

Playfre, the African music streaming service created by Chika Nwaogu, has launched a new service called SongRoute. SongRoute is designed to further help African artists monetize their music online. This latest service comes just shortly after the release of myPlayfre, which is designed to assist African artists in selling their music online without having to use a music aggregator.

Nigerian based music streaming enormous Playfre, who newly started on May 1, 2019, recently hit a milestone of 100,000 streams in two weeks of its publicity. The music streaming service who was also announced to have made an extension to Kenya has just started what it calls “myPlayfre” to Assist African Artists Monetize their Content Efficiently.
